How to Use This Guide

Above are three tabs, aside from this Home tab; all the books from the PHL 1001 Pre-Approved Books for Review list are under one or more of these tabs. Contact info for the Jacobs Library is below this box.

The first tab has a list of physical books in the IVCC Jacobs library. You may click on any title to check if the book is available or checked out. If it is available, write down the call number. Ask us if you need help finding it on the shelf. If a book is not available, it may be requested through interlibrary loan.

The second tab lists the books that are not available from the IVCC Jacobs library. These will need to be requested through interlibrary loan; directions are to the right. Click on the title to see if copies are available.

The third tab lists all the books that the IVCC Jacobs Library has access to in electronic (eBook or audiobook) format. These MAY be accessed from home - you'll need your last name and the entire 14-digit number from your student ID.

For a reminder of how to request books through interlibrary loan, see the boxes to the right.

How to Request an Interlibrary Loan title

The books on the Interlibrary Loan tab are not available at the IVCC Jacobs Library, but may be requested through Interlibrary Loan. If you have NEVER created an account to request a book through interlibrary loan, see the box below this box (labeled "Creating an Interlibrary Loan Account") for directions. Putting a book on hold will be easiest if you create an account before looking up a book.

1. Look for a book on the list you are interested in. (Remember the Control key plus the F key will open up a Find area you can use to look for words on the page.)

Ctrl + F opens a find box
