  • interface which makes it easy to watch, share, discuss and engage with films across campus
  • an easy way for you to embed Kanopy in curriculum through Blackboard
  • the opportunity to share films, create clips, or make playlists

How to Use Kanopy

Jacobs Library is excited to announce that we now have access to the streaming film database, Kanopy! We invite all faculty to try out this new service, but please make note of the following:

  • The IVCC account is structured within a Pay-Per-Use model, which means that each time a user affiliated with our account initiates a “play credit” for a film, we (that is, Jacobs Library) are charged $2.00.
  • Once a play credit is logged with Kanopy, the user has 3 full days (72 hours) to watch the film for unlimited uses. A user can track their existing and past play credits from their user dashboard.
  • We recommend on-campus instructors show films during class time to reduce expenses and streamline student viewing experience.
  • To view a film, you need to set-up a Kanopy account, using your IVCC email address.
  • After you submit your account information, Kanopy will email you a verification link. Click on the link in your email and your account will then be linked to the IVCC account. Please note that if you are off campus, you may also need to enter your IVCC login credentials when accessing Kanopy
