By definition, all OERs are Open Access, but not all Open-Access materials qualify as OERs.
Sometimes the distinction may not matter: You may simply want to link to a video or exercise in your course, and an item may allow that without allowing all 5 R's of a true OER.
Always pay attention to the licensing of the specific material you want to use to determine whether your desired use is permitted.
Openly Available Sources Integrated Search (OASIS) is a search tool that aims to make the discovery of open content easier. OASIS currently searches open content from many different sources such as Open Textbook Library, OpenStax, and BC Campus. The content searched includes open eBooks, media and other open materials.
Users can search in the library's catalog, SOAR, for Open Access journals, books, and more by using the following search facet within the "Tweak your results" section of the SOAR results page:
