Creating your first reading list

Follow the steps below to build and publish your first reading list.

 

Create a List

  • Click the Leganto Direct Link.
  • Login using your IVCC email and password.
  • Click on the Create List button.
  • Add a title and description to your list. You can also choose to link it to one of your courses at this time.
  • Next, decide how you would like to organize your reading list. You can select the default option or break your reading list up into a set number of weeks. If you select the weeks option, any materials that you add can be assigned to a specific week to make it easier for your students to locate them. Click the Create List button when you are ready to proceed.

 

Add Materials

  • Begin building your reading list by clicking the Add button.
  • To add resources from the library's collection, select Search the Library.
  • Install the Cite It! tool in your browser's toolbar to add websites and OER content to your list.
  • Select the Upload files option to add your own copyright compliant materials.

 

Publishing & Library Review

  • Click the My list is ready button when you're ready to make the list available to your students.
  • Check the Also publish the list to students box if you would like to make the list available to your students immediately. (Note: If your list has not been reviewed by the library, some materials may not be immediately available to your students. This includes physical items that must be moved to the reserve shelf and documents that require a copyright release.)
  • Click the send button to publish your list and send a notification to the library.
  • Online content will automatically become available, while uploaded documents will be reviewed for copyright compliance.
  • A library staff member will place any print items that you've selected on reserve and contact you with follow up questions.
